    GALVESTON, Texas (Sept. 19, 2014) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District awarded a contract in the amount of $2,111,235, to Affolter Contracting Company Inc., for containment dike raising at the Peggy Lake Dredged Material Placement Area in Harris County, Texas.
  • Five year update: Corps’ partnership with Port of Bay City to invest in infrastructure and find solutions to shoaling issues pays off

    MATAGORDA COUNTY, Texas (Aug. 19, 2014) – Five years ago the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District and Port of Bay City partnered on the study and new construction of an east jetty at the Mouth of the Colorado River to stabilize the shallow draft navigation channel and reduce maintenance dredging requirements. Today, that infrastructure plays an integral part in saving taxpayers approximately $200,000 annually in dredging costs and keeps a segment of the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway open for navigation.

    GALVESTON, Texas (Aug. 8, 2014) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District, awarded two small business task order contracts to Sol Engineering Service LLC, (an 8(a) small business) in the amount of $63,498.55 for environmental services to include collection and analyses of water and sediment samples from the federally-maintained Gulf Intracoastal Waterway from Rollover Pass to the Galveston Causeway near Galveston, Texas and the Channel to Harlingen reach near Harlingen, Texas.

    GALVESTON, Texas (July 23, 2014) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District, awarded a small business contract in the amount of $106,871.81 to Quaternary Resources Investigations LLC for core drilling, soil sampling and laboratory testing at Freeport Harbor’s Dredging Placement Area One.

    GALVESTON, Texas (April 23, 2014) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District, awarded a small business contract to Anamar Environmental Consulting Inc. in the amount of $258,987.54 for environmental services to include collection and analyses of water and sediment samples from the federally-maintained Corpus Christi Ship Channel and off-shore dredge material disposal site.
  • District awards $8.2 million contract to dredge Houston Ship Channel

    GALVESTON, Texas (April 13, 2014) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District awarded a contract in the amount of $8,286,850 to RLB Contracting Inc., to perform maintenance dredging within the Houston Ship Channel, from Carpenters Bayou to Greens Bayou, as well as the deep-draft portion of Greens Bayou Channel.

    GALVESTON, Texas (April 11, 2014) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District awarded a contract in the amount of $6,318,000 to Goodloe Marine Inc., a women-owned, HubZone Small Business, to perform maintenance dredging within the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway, between Turnstake Island and Live Oak Point, in Calhoun, Aransas and San Patricio counties, Texas.
  • Maintenance dredging of Brownsville Ship Channel delayed

    GALVESTON, Texas (Feb. 18, 2014) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District announced today it will solicit a rapid response maintenance dredging contract, with the bid opening the week of March 3, to address critical shoaling and perform maintenance dredging within the Brazos Island Harbor (Brownsville Harbor) jetty channel.
