  • Wallisville Accepting Hog Removal Applications

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Galveston District’s Wallisville Lake Project Office staff is now accepting applications for feral hog removal using trained dogs and trapping. The project will offer 50 dog hunting permits to individuals using trained dogs on a first-come-first-serve basis. A limited number of trapping permits will also be available throughout the year to those interested in trapping feral hogs on project lands.
  • Wallisville Lake Project improves waterfowl hunting process

    The Wallisville Lake Project, Waterfowl Management Program has made improvements to their hunting permit issuance process. Waterfowl hunting permits are now available on-demand via the Projects website.  The Wallisville Lake Project is part of the operations portfolio for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston Distirct.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Galveston District’s Wallisville Lake Project Office is now digitally issuing small game hunting permits for the 2021 season. According to Park Ranger Mark Tyson, “the new digital process was created in response to the current COVID-19 situation facing the nation.” Permits will no longer be issued in person at the Visitors Center. This program is in its third year and intends to increase public hunting availability at the Wallisville Lake Project.

  • JJ Mayes Wildlife Trace closure at Wallisville Lake Project

    WALLISVILLE, Texas – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District will close the J.J. Mayes Wildlife Trace at the Wallisville Lake Project on April 23 in order to improve the west non-overflow dam road to increase public safety.

  • Wallisville Lake Project meeting scheduled March 12

    WALLISVILLE, Texas (February 22, 2019) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District’s Wallisville Lake Project Office will host a public meeting to provide information and receive public input for its Master Plan revision for the Wallisville Lake Project. The meeting is scheduled for March 12 from 6-7:30 p.m., at the Whites Park Community Center, 222 White Park Rd, Wallisville, Texas 77597. The meeting will begin with a presentation, followed by an open house for attendees to view current project maps, ask questions and provide comments about the project and future land use classification.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District’s Wallisville Lake Project Office staff is now issuing small game hunting permits for the 2019 season as part of the Wildlife Management Program. This is a pilot program to increase public hunting availability at the Wallisville Lake Project.
