  • Corps extends proposed Kingwood Development regulatory public comment period

    GALVESTON, Texas (January 17, 2019) – The Galveston District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, will extend the public comment period for the Romerica Investments, LLC Permit application, SWG-2016-00384, to March 1, 2019. Corps regulatory branch officials decided today to allow for 30 additional days for public comment. Before the extension announcement to March 1, 2019, the initial close of comment period was announced within a public notice dated January 29, 2019. The notice can viewed at:
  • Corpus Christi Ship Channel Dredging contract awarded

    GALVESTON, Texas (January 7, 2019) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District has awarded a $92,551,470 contract to Great Lakes Dredge & Dock Company, LLC, to deepen and widen the Corpus Christi Ship Channel (CCSC) from the Gulf of Mexico to Harbor Island as part of the federally authorized CCSC Improvement Project.
  • Corps to extend public comment period for Coastal Protection and Restoration Study

    GALVESTON, Texas (January 7, 2019) – The Galveston District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, in cooperation with the non-Federal sponsor, Texas General Land Office, is extending the public comment period for 30 days for the Coastal Texas Protection and Restoration Study Draft Integrated Feasibility Report and Draft Environmental Impact Statement.
  • USACE Galveston and Harris County Flood Control District sign Reimbursement Agreements for Brays, Hunting and White Oak Bayou Projects

    GALVESTON, Texas (January 4, 2019) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Galveston District has joined its federal partner, The Harris County Flood Control District (Flood Control District) in signing amendments to one Project Cooperation Agreement (PCA) and two Project Partnership Agreements (PPAs) for the design and construction of on-going federal flood risk reduction projects along Brays Bayou, Hunting Bayou and White Oak Bayou.
