• USACE Galveston District partners with USCG to save time and money

    GALVESTON, Texas (Oct. 23, 2013) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District partnered with the U.S. Coast Guard to provide maintenance dredging, construction oversight, environmental coordination and hydrographic surveying services for nine USCG stations located along the Texas coast, increasing navigation safety while saving taxpayers thousands of dollars annually.
  • Regulatory Office Reopened Oct. 16 (following announcment of closure Oct. 15)

    GALVESTON, Texas (Oct. 15, 2013) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District announced today that it will close its Regulatory Branch Office due to the absence of available federal funding. Regulatory staff will be unable to evaluate individual permit applications, pre-construction notifications (PCNs) for nationwide permits (NWP) or regional general permit authorizations, or requests for jurisdictional determinations until after current year funding is received and the office reopens.
  • USACE Galveston District awards $974,950 small business contract for mooring buoys

    GALVESTON, Texas (Oct. 7, 2013) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District awarded a contract in the amount $974,950 to Marine Fenders International Inc., (a small business contractor), for 50 mooring buoys, which will be installed along the Texas section of the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway.

    GALVESTON, Texas (Sept. 27, 2013) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District awarded a contract in the amount of $547,000 to RLB Contracting, a woman-owned small business, for an oyster restoration project located within the northernmost extent of the Half Moon Reef in Matagorda Bay, Texas.

    GALVESTON, Texas (Sept. 27, 2013) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District, awarded a contract in the amount $1,369,515.74 to Integris Projects LLC (a Small Business Administration 8(a) contractor), for dewatering of the Alexander Island Placement Area relating to the Houston Ship Channel in Harris County, Texas.
  • USACE Galveston District awards $1.8 million Sims Bayou contract

    GALVESTON, Texas (Sept. 27, 2013) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District, awarded a contract to Kimrick Performance Group LLC, a 8(a) small business, in the amount of $1,877,831 for construction of a wider channel bottom that will enable larger storm water conveyance at Sims Bayou, in the vicinity of Hiram Clarke and Buxley bridges.

    GALVESTON, Texas (Sept. 27, 2013) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District awarded a contract in the amount of $5,034,950 to Orion Marine Construction Inc.,to dredge the High Island to Bolivar Flare portions of the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway (GIWW) in Texas.
