  • Galveston District, Jefferson County sign design agreement

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Galveston District and Jefferson County, signed a design agreement (DA) March 21 for the Jefferson County Ecosystem Restoration Project. The project was authorized by Congress in 2020 at an initial total project cost of $60M, which includes design and construction costs.

  • Galveston District, will start releases from Addicks reservoir to take flow measurements April 5

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Galveston District, in coordination with the United States Geological Survey (USGS), will start releases from Addicks reservoir tomorrow to take flow measurements through the new outlet structures and will continue through April 6.

  • USACE receives millions in Federal funding for Ports of Brownsville, Corpus Christi, Galveston and Houston

    More funding is on the way for several ship channel improvement projects in Texas, including the Brazos Island Harbor (Port of Brownsville), the Corpus Christi Ship Channel (Port of Corpus Christi Authority), the Galveston Harbor and Channel (Port of Galveston), and the Houston Ship Channel (Port of Houston). The Biden Administration announced March 29, that it will invest more than $2.7 billion in funding to [300] Army Corps projects throughout the country focused on strengthening ports and waterways in addition to other funding already received by the ports for projects. The Biden Administration is invested a total of nearly $17 billion in new funding and other supplemental appropriations in fiscal year 2022 and 2023 for over 800 projects across 55 states and territories.

  • Galveston District hosting INDUSTRY DAYS for businesses

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Galveston District, will host our annual Industry Days for small- and medium-sized businesses and government contractors March 22-23, 2022, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Titled “All Things Galveston,” this year’s Industry Days event will again be hosted virtually due to ongoing Federal COVID-19 restrictions. The purpose of the two-day event is to present upcoming work, help small- and medium-sized businesses navigate through the contracting process, provide an opportunity for companies to network and meet potential vendors and subcontractors, and maximize interest in the Galveston District’s contracting requirements.

    Join us Feb. 23-24 for our Winter 2022 Virtual Portfolio Review Board and Stakeholder Partnering Forum.  The theme for this event is “Environmental and social justice: integral to comprehensive coastal resiliency.”

  • USACE Galveston District, Jefferson County Drainage District No. 7 to co-host virtual update on Port Arthur project

     The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Galveston District and its non-federal sponsor, the Jefferson County Drainage District No. 7 (DD7), will co-host three virtual public information sessions, February 15-17, to provide an update on the Port Arthur Project as well as the Sabine Pass to Galveston Bay (S2G) Coastal Storm Risk Management (CSRM) Program. These information sessions are being conducted virtually, exercising COVID-19 safety precautions for group gatherings as outlined by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and Prevention. The sessions will include information about project status and next steps, as well as a question-and-answer session following the presentation.

  • Galveston District to seek right-of-entry from Orange County landowners

    Beginning February 15, 2022, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District Real Estate Division will resume going door-to-door seeking right-of-entry (ROE) permissions from Orange County landowners. These ROE permissions will help secure access to landowner property for the purpose of conducting surveys, cultural resource, geotechnical and other various investigations needed to forward the Orange County Coastal Storm Risk Management Project from conceptual design to construction. The Orange County Project is part of the overall Sabine Pass to Galveston Bay (S2G) Coastal Storm Risk Management Program.

  • Pre-solicitation notice RFP posted for $7 billion SWG MATOC

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District posted the pre-solicitation notice for the Phase 1 Request for Proposal (RFP) for the District’s $7 billion horizontal construction requirement on Feb. 7, 2022, on SAM.gov to give notice to industry that the official RFP will be released on February 22, 2022. This update comes as Galveston finishes the final steps of the solicitation internal reviews. The pre-solicitation notice is the first official notice indicating the solicitation process will actually begin with the RFP being released 15 days later for Phase 1 (of 2 Phases) for the $7 billion Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) Multiple Award Task Order (MATOC). Proposals will be due approximately 30 days after the RFP is released on SAM.gov. The see exact proposal date will be in the official RFP upon release.

  • USACE Galveston District, to host virtual public meetings for Gulf Intracoastal Waterway Coastal Resilience Study (GIWW-CRS)

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Galveston District and its Non Federal Partner (NFP), the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) will co-host two virtual public meetings, February 14 & 17, to provide information to the public about the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway Coastal Resilience Study (GIWW-CRS) and the Tentatively Selected Plan (TSP), and to give the public an opportunity to officially make comments. These meetings are being conducted virtually, exercising COVID-19 safety precautions for group gatherings as outlined by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and Prevention.

  • Phase 1 Draft Request for Proposal for Galveston District $7 billion Horizontal Construction projects now available on SAM.gov

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Galveston District has posted the latest version of the Phase 1 DRAFT Request for Proposal to SAM.gov to give industry an early look as the RFP continues through the final internal review and approval process. This is a DRAFT SOLICITATION ONLY to provide an early exchange of information for the $7 billion Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) Multiple Award Task Order (MATOC).
