    GALVESTON, Texas (June 26, 2013) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District partnered with the Houston Sail and Power Squadron (a unit of the United States Power Squadrons) to provide recreational boaters with free vessel safety examinations June 29-30 and July 4 from 8 a.m. to noon at the Trinity River Island Recreation Area (also known as the Wallisville Lake Project Boat Ramp) in Wallisville, Texas.

    GALVESTON, Texas (June 25, 2013) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District awarded a service-disabled veteran-owned small business contract to Babcock Construction Company in the amount of $843,000 to conduct levee raising on Placement Area 2 at the Port of Victoria, located in Calhoun and Victoria counties, Texas.

    GALVESTON, Texas (June 20, 2013) – Students from the Prairie View A&M University’s Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) Summer Program visited the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District today to speak with district subject matter experts in the engineering, biology and regulatory fields, learn more about different avenues of pursuing STEM-related career fields and about the opportunities that exist for recent graduates.
